Ed, thanks for posting the first pics. I t was great you could hang around the extra day in Melbourne to attend the event and meet a few of the club members. For the interstaters, Melbourne lived up to its reputation of the 4 seasons in a day with clouds, rain, sunshine, drizzle and then more heavy rain. Thankfully we had the club tent to shelter under. Thanks Marcus for bringing these down and returning them home.
I spoke with Wayne Heavey, President of the 356 Register and 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of this event and Wayne would like to make it special and has suggested we could officially join in for the entire weekends events including the dinner and Saturday drive.
The venue will also probably change to accommodate more people and its intended to suport a Childrens Charity with the proceeds of the days events.
If this all goes ahead as suggested, its an ideal event to have our interstate members attend to make it a very worthwhile long weekends visit to Melbourne to join into an early Porsche extravaganza.
I would be interested to hear comments from others about your support for such an event and if any NSW or SA members would consider coming along.sigpicPhil Lack

Guys,
i'd be down with the car, my only comment would be that its such a busy time of the year, and it could be a week round trip- couple of days down, couple of days running around couple of days back...might be better earlier in November?

Craig,
we are limited by the dates that the 356 Register has enshrined in their calendar. If we want to join them, then its on the dates they allocate.
I suggested to Wayne that he consider Melbourne Docklands precinct as an ideal venue as they are having many car displays in the "piazza" area each Sunday. There would be enough room to show around 120+ cars and there are heaps of restaurants surrounding this area. There is a hotel at Docklands and Rich could come there straight from work !
I realise the timing isnt that great but perhaps the 356 Guys might consider making it earlier if this assist their interstate members in making the effort to drive down.
Lets have more discussion ....Last edited by e72phil; 30-11-09, 03:34 PM.sigpicPhil Lack
