Agree with Roland. Before getting into Porsche I was a Datsun 2000 roadster tragic and owned 6 over a period ( 4 of the super rare lowscreen 2000's and 2 highscreen 2000's) All these cars are factory fitted with twin dual barrel 44PHH Solex carbies which are renowned for all the issues that Roland mentioned. But they are fantastic carbies when they are in good condition and well tuned. They can be a nightmare in the wrong hands and if they are worn. My last one was running lightweight rods and was good for 7,500rpm and the carbies were up to the job.

Partial squareweave carpet kit fitted today, one of my least favourite jobs, only because of the glueing of the map pockets.

          Nice carpet Chris.
Drove mine yesterday and had so much fun took it back out again today, these cars are a lot of fun with their light weight, skinny tyres, handling, etc.Can pull out onto the Hwy and mix it up with modern cars, no problem.
I remember reading an article in an English Porsche magazine years ago ( this stuck in my mind) where the owner of the cars in the article had moved to Dubai for work and took a couple of Rs cars, ( 964 and maybe a 996 gt3,can't remember exactly) he left his 912 back in the Uk in the garage ready for when he was back home . He stated if ever having to sell his cars he'd keep the 12.
