A busy day yesterday under the guidance of the guru, David Belford, saw the dash, front and rear screens and the sunroof all back in and on the car. New windscreen rubbersfrom Porsche fitted perfectly.

Need some batteries next to be able to test and adjust the sunroof and see how the new wiring performs after the fire

          Clyde,
Why does one '73 have a dash with removeable speaker grille and the other the dash with the punched holes ?
Did Porsche do a dash with neither ?
I see listed on the Donnigton auction a supposed NOS '72+ dash that has neither.

And how did you go about restoring the heater control panel ?

          Thanks

Heater control panel was in great shape no restoring done.

Pretty simple it should have a speaker grille version but no one makes one that either fits, has speakers holes lined up, or looks any good.

The one in the car with speaker holes was what was available from Porsche post 1978 up until about 1986 and after that RHD dashes have not been available for F series cars.

The third version was the no hole version which was fitted to 1976/77 cars not sure when it stopped being available. The Donnington one is not NOS and has a few of the studs missing.

All buttoned up from the elements now, new side glass and frames re anodised and all installed and looking good

Now I can finish off the inside and then on to engine refiting. Have done most of the trunk too lots of fiddly bits.

Starting to look like a car again.

Yes the chocolate brown and black interior with yellow paint does go well together. Not a lot of cars made in this spec either.

after a lot of fiddling I got the new (Porsche Classic) pockets to fit nicely, now to disassemble again and add the new spring brackets which I needed to order, and then finally the new bungee cord. On to the other side today and then I can finally call the interior finished.
