Just needs a sound bite to play in the back ground:p.
Looking great, there will be a couple of us to come out to Mallala for moral support if you get there.

Parked the car to go to a meeting this morning. Crossed the street, looked back (as you do) then realised how 'period correct' the setting was...

          Introduction

Hi, my name is Patrick and I registered today and thought it would be good to introduce me and my car here.
I'm 41 years old and originally from the Netherlands. My car is a 1973 LHD 911T in light yellow which is currently on its way to Australia.
I bought the car in 2005 and stored it at a Dutch independent Porsche dealer when i came to Aus in 2007. It has been out of storage whenever we went back to Holland (earlier this year I even took it to the Nordschleife), but I can't tell you how happy I am it is finally coming over so that it can be driven more regularly.

We (my better half and me, no kids) never really made the decision to stay, which is why it sat in storage for so long, but selling it and buying something similar here was not an option; the cars here are much more expensive and I had already spend a fortune to get it right.

Anyway, the 911 is in transit, expected to arrive late january. I was aware of the requirement for a import permit (which I have) but I have no idea how difficult (and expensive) the process of importing/registering is going to be. Just hope it'll be fairly quick so I can still enjoy it this summer.

I hope to participate in a lot of events and hope to meet a lot of you soon.
          Best regards,

          Patrick

Just realised my contribution to this thread is useless without pics...

This is the car in front of our house back in the Netherlands.

Welcome to TYP901 Patrick. Your car looks very attractive.
You'll be certainly made very welcome by all members as we all share the same passion for our early 901's. Hope to see on a club run in the new year - possibly heading to N/E Victoria up around the Strathbogie Ranges.

Welcome, light yellow my second favourite colour, as a 73 car you will have to install retractable rear seat belts or lock the backrests down so the seats can't be used and change the headlight lenses RHD style and probably front belts if they are old style.

When the time comes pm me there are some tricks that will get you registered depends upon how often you wish to drive the car we have a cheap club registration that your now eligible for as a club member approx $400 all up including the roadworthy or around $1500 for engineers certficate roadworthy and full registration, all of this is assuming your residing in Victoria.

I stand to be corrected, but as a genuine "personal import", I think you pay less duty on entry.

                    Great looking car!

I think your correct John none at all I believe.

OK I sell the lenses, bought a heap cheap from Europe when someone else bought RHD that they thought were LHD I suspect.
